Training Session Held to Strengthen Guria’s Tea Sector

On January 28-29 a training was held through the joint efforts of Helvetas’ Local Economic Development Project (LEDP) and Enterprise Georgia, conducted a training session aimed at strengthening the effective collaboration of small businesses in the tea sector with retail traders. The training was attended by companies from the Guria region, including members of the “Tea Route Association”, who are actively engaged in tea production and processing.

During the training, participants gained insight into the needs and expectations of retail traders, which will help them establish more stable and profitable partnerships. Special attention was given to the proper value proposition and positioning of products, enabling businesses to enhance their competitiveness and expand market access. Additionally, the training covered negotiation processes, equipping participants with knowledge on analyzing commercial terms and securing beneficial agreements with partners.

A significant portion of the training focused on improving operational processes, including logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control, helping businesses streamline their operations and increase efficiency.

Participants also received information on the private sector support programs offered by Enterprise Georgia, as well as the regional consulting centers, where entrepreneurs can receive individual consultations and gain in-depth information on all existing private sector support programs.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between “Tea Route Association” and LEDP, aimed at strengthening the tea sector in Guria. The parties agreed to support the development of small and medium-sized tea producers, focusing on enhancing their skills and improving market access.
